The 2nd ODI match between India and West Indies will be played on 24th July at the Queen’s Park Oval.
In the second ODI against West Indies on Sunday, Team India accomplished a fantastic chase of 312 and defeated the visitors with 2 wickets and as many balls to spare. The players of both teams were crossing their fingers as only 8 were needed from the final six balls.
The Indian team overpowered the Caribbean side in two back-to-back games as the Shikhar Dhawan-led side clinched the ODI series. While it was a comprehensive team effort in Trinidad, all-rounder Axar Patel stole the show with his match-winning knock.
India chased down a target of 312 runs set by the hosts to register their highest successful chase in West Indies. After Dhawan was dismissed early, it was Iyer and Sanju Samson who stitched up a terrific 99-run stand for the fourth wicket to give a strong base for the middle-order batters.
The Indian players experienced a very high adrenaline rush when their team crossed the finish line with two balls remaining. Siraj recalled the incident and added that after seeing Axar make several impressive shots, he too felt inspired.
The temperature is expected to hover around 28°C on the matchday with 77% humidity and 13 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of precipitation during the game.
It is expected to be a surface, which will be true to the batters throughout the whole course of the match. But the spinners can also get a purchase to control the flow of runs. A total of around 300 can also be chased down in this venue.
