Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) rose to the top of the table in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after defeating the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 5 wickets on Wednesday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
Pat Cummins stunned everyone with his batting prowess by scoring the joint-fastest half-century in the IPL as KKR chased down the target of 162 with four overs to spare.
It is the KKR’s fourth game of the season while the third for Mumbai Indians. Mumbai has had the wood over Kolkata in KKR vs MI contests over the years winning 22 of the 29 games played between both sides.
It will be the third match of the season on this ground. Both the games have been won by the team batting first and the same might get repeated in this game. Batters have found it easy to score runs here and the bowlers will have to do a lot of work to have a chance in this game.
Suryakumar was caught behind for 52 but MI finished the innings in grand fashion after 3 sixes from Keiron Pollard guided MI to 161-4 in the first innings.
